John Critchfield, LCPC
John holds a Master of Science in Counseling from University of Phoenix (Phoenix Campus) and a Master of Divinity in Marriage/Family Therapy from Amridge University. John has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Idaho since 2014 and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2017. Besides his experience in working with the VA and community-based behavioral health, John has also been involved in counseling as a Chaplain in the US Army Reserve since 2009 and over 10 years of experience as an Education Counselor for a private university.
John is experienced in helping individuals, couples, families and groups who face various challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, addictions, ADHD, Autism, grief or loss, anger management, relationship difficulties and suicide prevention. He believes in a systemic approach using strength-based models such as Cognitive-Behavioral, Emotion-Focused, Solution-Focused, and Existential therapies depending on the needs of each person. John is also trained in providing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy (for more information on EMDR, visit the EMDR International Association website here)
