“Helping people through their transitions from struggle to success is my passion.”

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and am pursuing a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I never stop learning, and it is my goal to help my clients learn and grow while on their own paths through life. Working with children, teens, couples, families, and groups, I practice therapy with an array of tools from my tool kit to help people from all backgrounds and lived stories. Diversity sensitivity is a must for any professional. I look forward to working with and learning from those whose lives are unique, fascinating, filled with strife, filled with joy, sometimes lost, sometimes thriving.

Working together, we will create a plan for how you want your life to go. Some of the therapy approaches I employ include:

  • Emotion Focused Therapy
  • Gottman therapy for couples
  • Feminist Therapy
  • Solution Focused Therapy
  • Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Person-Centered Therapy, and more.

I really enjoy working with people from all walks of life. I have much experience working with those who struggle with PTSD, substance addiction, and domestic violence. Members of the LBGTQ community, refugee families, children in foster care, teens and young adults experiencing psychosis, couples in relational crisis, individuals needing someone to talk to – all are welcome in my office.

A little bit about me: in my free time, I enjoy growing my own food. I sometimes fail at this, but the process and outcomes are interesting, and usually delicious! I also love animals. Since 2011 I have been involved in dog rescue organizations. I am a foster parent for dogs who need rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Paying attention to current events – local, nationwide and global – is a fascination of mine. I love seeing how different governments, cultures, and people operate and do “life.”

For more than 10 years, I have been an active volunteer for many nonprofit organizations. It feels good to give back and make others smile. I have travelled to many countries, and once got kicked out of Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. I love story telling, so if you are a future client, I may tell you about it sometime!
