Whatever your reasons for seeking counseling, when you step into my office, you will be treated with respect, compassion, and validation. I believe that, right now, everyone is doing the best they can with what they know. With knowledge and understanding, we are able to grow and change unhealthy behaviors and thought patterns into healthy ones. The work I do with my clients is collaborative – we create a treatment plan together; with goals you want to work on. We achieve these goals by building skills, improving understanding, gaining insight into how these behaviors got started in the first place, and by increasing resources in your life.

Professionally, I have over ten years of employment and internship experience working with clients and patients with various mental health issues and disorders. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in July 2014, and received my Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) designation in October 2017. Although I am predominantly working with children and adolescents ages 3-17 at this time, my most seasoned client is 65+ years old. I have extensive experience working with clients of all ages with chronic mental health difficulties. These include anxiety disorders (including OCD and Panic Disorder), mood disorders (including Major Depression and Bipolar Disorder), suicidal ideation, self-injury, PTSD and trauma, ADHD, and paranoia. In addition, I welcome working with members of the LGBTQ community of all ages. I believe my experience qualifies me to appreciate and understand the individualized needs of this population.

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I am qualified and trained to help individuals, couples, families, and children. I focus especially on Expressive Therapies (i.e. Art, Narrative) and Play Therapy to encourage clients to express thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In addition, I guide my clients in examining and challenging their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors using various Cognitive Behavioral techniques. I take into account the whole person and his or her surrounding environment in order to assess strengths and arrive at healthy solutions. I feel everyone’s truth deserves respect; every client will have the opportunity to be heard and the opportunity to collaborate with an empathic and caring professional.
